Can you wash our Polar Puffer C24? This is how to wash and dry our down jacket properly.
Down is very durable and has a high insulating capacity and loft for many years. With the right care, this can be renewed again and again.
There are three things that are important the Polar Puffer will be your companion for a long time: Careful handling, correct detergent and careful drying to fluff up again.
Wash:
Wash as little as possible and only when necessary. Close all zippers, empty the pockets and turn the down jacket inside out.
Wash the jacket individually in a large washing machine with a capacity of at least 6kg at 30°C on the delicates or wool program and at 400-600 revolutions.
Use special down detergents, as conventional detergents destroy the keratin of the down. Therefore, an enzyme-free down detergent is necessary to prevent damage to avoid .
After An additional rinse cycle is recommended after the main wash.
Carefully remove the down jacket from the drum to avoid damage to the material and seams caused by the weight of the moisture and let it dry thoroughly.
Dry:
Ideally, use a tumble dryer with a capacity of at least 6kg. If you don't have one, we recommend using a laundromat, as a tumble dryer makes it much easier to fluff up the jacket again.
Choose a low (cold) temperature of 40-60°C and dry in the short program.
Add 2-3 tennis/dryer balls They help with bulking up.
Remove the down jacket after the first drying process (usually it is still damp or wet) carefully out of the drum and shake it carefully You can gently push any clumps of down you feel into the middle of the chambers.
If necessary, repeat this drying process until only very little residual moisture is noticeable (closet dry).
Shake the Polar Puffer after drying well then spread them out loosely on a clothes rack and let them dry over Let it dry completely overnight. Finally, shake it again.
